Haven of Refuge Community Resources also offers to the community workforce development training in the field of construction, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, air-conditioning and heating.  Our goal is to help those in the community, who prefer to learn a skill trade rather than attending college, to complete courses of training in the classroom and on-site practical application with the Haven of Refuge Community Resources partners.  Once those courses have been completed and a certificate of successful training has been awarded, we hope to have the local unions accept our participants and apprentices.  Once apprenticeship has been successfully completed, these same participants can now be offered journeyman positions with the opportunity to join the ranks of the middle class.  These participants will now have union full-time income, medical insurance benefits, paid vacation and sick time.  We will be working diligently to recruit young men from the street corners, halfway houses, high school graduates and dropouts who desire and are willing to work for a brighter future.  Every one of them a future homeowner, husband, father and success story.
